I have been contemplating the content of my blog since I titled it a couple of days ago. I don't like to write, so I am going to have to force myself to keep the content fresh and to some degree interesting. So, if you are reading this, thank you for your time and check back periodically, I am not sure how often I will be updating it and the content will be random or whatever God puts on my heart to write.
This has been an interesting week:
My brother lost his job Monday. He has been working for the local railroad for at least 15 years. Business has been slow, so they finally let him go. He sacrificed for this company, its a shame it happened this way. I'll be praying for him and his family as they struggle through this difficult time.
My wife and I took the kids up to the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum on Tuesday. It's a neat place, especially on a Tuesday in the middle of winter. There were more volunteers working than people visiting. We received a lot of personal attention. You should check them out: http://www.evergreenmuseum.org/
I went to collect eggs and check the chickens when I got home Tuesday. It was a decent egg day, but one lucky hen found her way into the 5 gallon water jug (it is off the ground with watering nipples coming out the bottom) and couldn't get out. Her little head was sticking above the edge of the bucket and she was standing in 8 inches of water. Luckily I heard her. I couldn't help but laugh even though I felt bad for her. She got to spend a few hours in the bathroom drying off before she got put back out in the coop.
I put 96 miles on the bike this week. Its been chilly on the morning rides and the evening rides have been beautiful. My son and I even saw a beaver by the river bank last Saturday night.
My biggest, most urgent prayer request this week and continuing, is for my youngest daughter's eyes. We need to start some aggressive vision therapy, which may or may not fix her eyes. If not, she may need surgery. Our prayer is that God heals her without surgical intervention. Her brain needs to make her eyes work together, right now, they work independently, so one is normally crossed. I may post a picture of her soon so you can see. Please be in prayer with us.
My good friend got back to the States from the Mid-East yesterday. He's in the Airforce Reserves and had to spend almost 5 months away from his family serving our country. He should be at home sometime mid-next week. Thanks Tom! I am proud to call you friend. I know your family will be overjoyed to see you.
I realized that this posting would be much more interesting this week with pictures. The chicken in the bucket, the river beaver, etc. Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the chicken and I don't have a picture of the beaver with me. I'll have to keep these things in mind as I continue on with this blog.
God Bless all of you.
