The God Spot Day

I was riding to work today and was in the middle of praying and a thought came to me that maybe I should make Monday's my "God Spot" day on my blog.  What do you think?  Does that mean, based on the title of my blog, that I need a "Cycling Spot" day and a "Chicken Spot" day too.  I don't think so.  For now I'll stick with the "God Spot" day and see how I do.

I have been considering this week how big God really is.  Does anything really compare to God?  In BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) we just got done reading Isaiah 40 and 41, go ahead and read these two chapters.  Isaiah 40:12 says:

"Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,
or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens?
Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket,
or weighed the mountains on the scales
and the hills in a balance?"

Can you imagine how big God has to be to mark off the heavens with the span of His hand? Our Sunday school teacher talked about what we use to measure God.  The final outcome was that whatever we use to measure Him in the end limits our view of God.  For example, how much do you want God to bless you?  How would you measure it?  Malachi 3:10 says:

"...and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. "

God does not want us measuring Him.  Believe that he is all powerful, incomparable and His supply of love is limitless.  Did you hear that?  His love has no end.

God is big enough to care about your smallest problems.  If you think that God is too small to worry about your needs and all the "important" stuff going on in the world, then you are limiting the all powerful God.
  • Is you marriage a wreck?  God cares and can fix it.
  • How's your relationship with your kids?  Does it need fixing?  God will help.
  • Can't overcome that addiction?  With God's help you can?
  • Need a job?  God knows and cares.  Let him give you peace.
Are you having a problem with limiting God's power in your life.  Go to Him, humble yourself and tell him you need Him.  He's waiting!
